Goal
The goal was to create beach-inspired designs that aligned with the client’s vision and complemented the aesthetic of their rental properties. The designs incorporated the names of the houses, reflecting the relaxed, coastal vibe of the locations while appealing to potential renters looking for a unique, vacation-ready experience.
Design
For the Groovy Grove sign, I chose this name to reflect the house’s unique location, nestled among the wild oak trees in the heart of Bald Head Island. I used groovy, custom lettering to evoke a laid-back, coastal vibe, incorporating a sunset and ocean illustration within the font. To further tie the design to the house’s surroundings, I illustrated a wild oak tree and made the lettering curve around the tree's branches, mimicking how the house is built around the natural landscape. This design brings together the house’s location and the relaxed, beachy atmosphere.
Design
For the Fat Moon design, the client wanted a sign that reflected both the house's name and its location, so I shaped the Fat Moon title into letters that fit within a moon shape, giving it an illustrative moon texture. Since the house is near the golf course, I incorporated a golf green beneath the moon lettering, grounding the design in its location. To complete the concept, I added waves crashing onto the green, blending the natural coastal elements with the golfing theme for a unique, harmonious design.
